The group includes a gold toned commemorative medallion featuring a relief of a female figure and a child, housed in a velvet lined presentation case with a gold printed label reading Pobjoy Mint Ltd Sutton Surrey England. A foliate brooch set with marcasite or pyrites is presented in a red box with two white adhesive labels reading MARCASITE and STERLING SILVER MADE IN ENGLAND. Other notable items include a thistle brooch set with a large amber coloured faceted stone, possibly citrine or glass, with blue enamel accents, and a silver filigree Star of David link bracelet. The assortment further comprises a large oval locket with an engine-turned sunburst pattern, several pieces featuring blue enamel decoration including pendants and stud earrings, and two pairs of earrings on cards printed with Sterling Silver in swan and bow designs. Several pieces carry visible markings: two pairs of earrings are on cards marked Sterling Silver; a brooch is in a box labeled STERLING SILVER; and a circular pendant depicts a relief of a figure with an illegible inscription. A long necklace features stylized openwork leaf links, and one hexagonal bronze toned medallion depicts a classical scene with multiple figures. The items exhibit various construction methods including filigree, enamelling, and cast metalwork.
Condition report:
The collection appears in overall good vintage condition with signs of age and wear consistent with use. Tarnish and surface oxidation are visible across many of the silver and silver toned pieces, notably on the leaf link necklace and the filigree star pendant (photo 1). The marcasite brooch appears intact with no visible losses to the stones in the provided image (photo 3). The presentation cases show minor external scuffing and wear to the velvet interiors (photo 3). Some loose earrings are present without matching pairs (photo 4). No significant structural damage, breaks, or repairs are visible in the photographs.
