A collection of vintage writing instruments and ink accessories comprising a variety of fountain pens, ballpoints, a mechanical pencil, and assorted refills. The lot includes a lever-fill fountain pen in black resin with silver-tone trim housed in a textured blue case, and a ballpoint pen featuring a teal marbled barrel and brushed metal cap presented in a two-tone cream and black box. A further ballpoint pen with a black barrel and polished chrome cap is contained within a black presentation box featuring a double-heart logo and the gold lettering PAPER MATE. The loose instruments include a cream-coloured fountain pen, various black resin fountain pens including a hooded nib model, a blue and silver-tone technical style pen, two black and gold-tone ballpoints, a red fountain pen, and a mechanical pencil.
The collection is accompanied by a quantity of ink supplies. These include a cardboard box printed with PARKER SUPER QUINK ROYAL BLUE WASHABLE INK, a retail card for 12 LARGE INK CARTRIDGES WASHABLE BLUE by grafix, a plastic tray containing approximately 28 black ink cartridges, and a small bag of approximately 10 blue refills. A fountain pen with a textured black and silver checkered pattern barrel is also included. Several pens feature gold-tone clips and bands, while others utilize chrome or silver-tone finishes.
Condition report:
The items are in used vintage condition with visible wear throughout. The Parker Quink cardboard box shows significant crushing and shelf wear (photo 1). The presentation boxes exhibit surface scuffing and edge wear. Minor surface scratches and brassing to the gold-plated clips and trim are visible on the loose pens (photo 1). The ink cartridges and refills are of significant age and the contents may be dried or evaporated. Nibs are present but tipping material and internal filling mechanisms, such as the lever-fill on the black pen, are untested.
