This lot comprises two copper fireplace fenders featuring distinct period styling. The first fender is an Art Deco style piece constructed from copper, possibly over a steel frame. It features a central raised pediment decorated with a stylised fan or sunburst motif, flanked by linear detailing along the horizontal bars. The second fender is an Edwardian style piece made of formed sheet copper. It is decorated with a central applied cast mount depicting a classical wreath and ribbon design, with visible rivets at the corner joints. Both items feature a dark patinated finish. No manufacturer marks, hallmarks, or labels are visible on either item.

Condition report:

Both fenders show significant signs of age and use. The Art Deco style fender exhibits heavy wear to the finish on the horizontal bars where the copper has rubbed through to the base metal (photo 1). The Edwardian style fender shows a deep, aged patina with significant surface oxidation, spotting, and darkening throughout the metal surface (photo 2). Both items have visible scuffs, light surface scratches, and minor dents consistent with their functional history.
