Fortnightly Auctions Of Antiques, Collectables, General Furniture and Effects. New Lots Added Daily.
Sold for: £5
This lot comprises three contemporary rectangular wall mirrors in various sizes and finishes. The group includes a large wall mirror featuring a wide bevelled frame with a grey weathered wood-effect grain, finished with an inner geometric diamond pattern border in white and grey. A white paper label is affixed to the brown backing paper of the larger mirror, though the printed text is not clearly legible as a maker’s name. The lot also includes a narrower full-length wall mirror with a simple flat-profile white frame, likely constructed from painted wood or MDF, and a third mirror. The mirror plates are clear and appear to be in good condition.
Condition report:
The mirror plates are in good condition with no visible foxing or silvering loss (photos 1 and 2). The driftwood-effect frame appears intact. The brown backing paper on the reverse of the larger mirror shows a long vertical tear or crease extending from the bottom edge towards the centre (photo 3). There are visible surface marks and dust consistent with storage in a warehouse environment.
