A mid-century modern style ercol gateleg dining table featuring a rectangular central section flanked by two rounded rectangular drop-leaves. The table is constructed from solid wood and veneers, finished in a dark mahogany tone, with a prominent straight grain visible to the top surfaces. The base is configured with tapered square legs featuring chamfered edges, supported by an X-frame stretcher for stability. Two of the legs are designed to swing out to support the leaves when extended. A small rectangular metallic label is affixed to the underside of the frame; it features a graphic crest or symbol at the top, but the condensed text below it is not legible.
Condition report:
The table is in fair used condition. The top surface exhibits significant cosmetic wear, including numerous scratches, scuffs, and areas of finish loss, particularly along the edges (photo 1 and 2). There are multiple visible circular plugs to the top surface (photo 1). The legs and stretchers show general scuffing and wear consistent with age and use (photo 3).
