A Hitachi stereo Hi-Fi system comprising an integrated tuner amplifier, a double cassette deck, a turntable, and a pair of matching loudspeakers. The components are housed in a black laminate stereo rack featuring a glass door and integrated record storage. The integrated stereo tuner amplifier is marked Hitachi model HTA-07 and features an AM-FM tuner with a PLL multiplex circuit and a block diagram display. The stereo cassette tape deck is marked Hitachi model D-W400 and features twin tape transports and a tape counter. The DC servo turntable is marked Hitachi model HT-07 and includes a speed selector for 33 and 45 rpm records. Both the cassette deck and turntable bear labels stating Made in Japan. The two loudspeakers are finished in black wood-effect laminate with black fabric grilles and carry Hitachi labels. A collection of approximately 50 to 60 vinyl LPs is included, featuring The Reader’s Digest Record Library and Stardust box sets alongside various classical and easy listening titles. A partially visible original manual for the Hitachi stereo tuner amplifier and stereo cassette tape deck is present within the cabinet.
Condition report:
The electronics and speaker grilles show a heavy accumulation of surface dust and lint throughout (photo 1). The cassette deck display windows exhibit visible clouding or staining to the interior surfaces (photo 2). The fabric grilles on the loudspeakers show light white scuffs and marking (photo 5). The laminate cabinet shows minor wear and small nicks to the leading edges (photo 4). The vinyl record sleeves show typical age-related yellowing and shelf wear to the spines (photo 3). The functional status of the electronic components is unknown and the lot is sold as untested.
