A collection of decorative glassware and lead crystal comprising six distinct pieces. The group features a tall contemporary-style hurricane lamp with a silver-toned weighted circular metal base and stem, supporting a clear glass cylindrical chimney. Also included is a clear water jug decorated with traditional diamond and fan cutting patterns and an applied handle. The assortment contains a variety of decanters: a tall slender pear-shaped decanter with geometric cross-hatching and a faceted pointed stopper; a pair of matching square-section spirit decanters with intricate star and fan cutting and globular faceted stoppers; and a modernist clear glass decanter of flattened circular form with a flat-topped stopper. This modernist piece bears a small red and white shield-shaped adhesive label on the lower body which reads Orrefors Sweden. The cut crystal items exhibit high clarity and sharp, well-defined decorative patterns.
Condition report:
The glass and crystal pieces generally appear bright and clear with no significant chips or cracks visible in the photographs. The hurricane lamp shows some white residue and smudging to the interior and exterior of the glass chimney (photo 1 and 4). The cut crystal pieces show sharp edges to the decorative patterns, and the Orrefors label remains intact on the modernist decanter (photo 1 and 3). Minor shelf wear consistent with age is to be expected on the bases of all items.
