A Regency style mahogany side table featuring a circular top with a flame mahogany veneer and a crossbanded edge. The fixed tabletop is supported by a tripod pedestal base consisting of three curved, turned, and fluted legs. Each leg is decorated with carved acanthus leaf details at the knees and terminates into a substantial tri-form plinth base with bracket feet. The primary timber is mahogany with a polished reddish-brown finish. There are no maker’s marks or labels visible on the piece.
Condition report:
A significant structural break is present on one of the legs where it joins the plinth base (photo 3). Surface scratches, scuffs, and small indentations are visible across the tabletop (photos 1 and 2). There is general wear and scuffing around the bracket feet and the edges of the plinth base (photos 2 and 3). Dust and grime buildup is visible within the carved fluting and acanthus leaf details of the legs (photo 4).
