A large collection of recorded music and media comprising approximately 60 compact discs and two DVD box sets, primarily focused on the easy listening, big band, vocal pop, and classical genres. The assortment includes several volumes of the BBC Big Band ‘The Age of Swing’ series, featuring discs marked VAR097, VAR098, VAR099, and VAR100, alongside various Reader’s Digest compilations such as ‘The Fabulous 50s – 1958’ (RDCD2581-3). Vocalists represented include John Barrowman, Vera Lynn, Jim Reeves, Al Martino, Bing Crosby, and Nat King Cole. Notable multi-disc sets include two 3-CD box sets by James Last and a Luciano Pavarotti, José Carreras, and Placido Domingo ‘Three Legends’ collection. The lot also features a triple DVD collection titled ‘Archive of British Steam’ (GRD1041) and a BBC Earth ‘Yellowstone’ DVD. The media is housed in standard plastic jewel cases and card slipcases, featuring labels such as Music for Pleasure (MFP), Hallmark, and various specialist nostalgia imprints.
Condition report:
The collection shows signs of general shelf wear across the plastic jewel cases. Several card slipcases, notably the James Last and British Steam sets, exhibit edge wear, minor crushing, and scuffing to the corners (photo 2). One CD case near the centre of the group displays a yellow adhesive residue or tape across the spine (photo 2). The oversized \'Classical Moods\' case on the far left shows visible scuffing and wear to the edges (photo 3). The discs themselves have not been inspected for playback, but the cases appear to be complete with their respective media.
