A pair of glazed porcelain figurines depicting a male and female tennis player in mid-20th-century style attire. The male figure is portrayed in white shorts and a polo shirt with a sweater draped over his shoulders, leaning against a low grey stone wall. The female figure wears a white tennis dress with blue and pink accents, leaning against a tall green hedge. Both figures are rendered in a muted palette of white, beige, soft blue, and green tones, and each holds a stylised tennis racket. The underside of both bases features a blue printed backstamp comprising a flower or bell-like device above the name LLADRO and the words HAND MADE IN SPAIN. Further incised marks are present on the unglazed foot rims, including the characters 8, 3, 0, and H, alongside hand-drawn symbols. Based on visual characteristics, these correspond to the Lladro Tennis Player Boy (reference 4894) and a matching female counterpart.
Condition report:
Both figurines are in good condition with no visible chips, cracks, or restorations (photos 1 and 2). There is light surface soiling and grey marking consistent with handling on the unglazed underside foot rims (photo 3). The glazed surfaces retain a high shine throughout.
