A collection of British commemorative medallions and coins of various compositions and denominations. The lot includes a blue folder titled Britain’s First Decimal Coins containing a set of five cupro-nickel and bronze coins (1/2p, 1p, 2p, 5p, 10p) dated 1968 and 1971. A vintage coin folder is present containing several pre-decimal copper and cupro-nickel coins, including a British shilling dated 1963. Three loose 50 pence coins are included, one being a 2013 Benjamin Britten commemorative issue. Commemorative items feature a gold-coloured medallion in a black display case with a certificate from Jubilee Mint titled The Extraordinary Reign of Queen Elizabeth II, a Golden Jubilee 1952-2002 medallion in a square plastic holder, and a cupro-nickel medallion on a blue card from The Westminster Collection inscribed Long to Reign Over Us. Also present is a large gold-coloured commemorative medallion depicting the Crown Jewels and the Queen, a small copper-toned rectangular bar inscribed 25 1952 ER 1977, and a two-pound coin in a white card mount.


Condition report:

The items show varying conditions. The pre-decimal copper coins in the vintage folder exhibit heavy toning and circulated wear (photo 2). The Britain\'s First Decimal Coins folder shows some age-related wear and creasing to the card interior (photo 2). The loose 50 pence coins and the two-pound coin show light circulated wear and surface marks (photo 3). The cased commemorative medallions by Jubilee Mint and Westminster appear in brilliant uncirculated condition with no visible surface marks or toning (photo 4). The large gold-coloured medallion shows a bright finish with minor surface abrasions (photo 4). The plastic and card holders show minor storage wear.
