A Victorian style pine drop leaf kitchen table featuring a solid pine plank construction with a warm honey-coloured finish. The rectangular central top is flanked by two rounded drop-leaf flaps, which are supported by wooden pull-out brackets when extended. The table is raised on four substantial turned-baluster legs. A single frieze drawer is situated at one end, featuring simple nailed joinery to the interior and a white ceramic knob to the face. The drawer interior shows the natural grain and knots of the solid wood construction. No manufacturer marks or labels are visible on the piece.
Condition report:
The table is in a used, rustic condition consistent with domestic use. Visible defects include several white paint splashes and scuffs to the lower section of one leg (photo 5). There is a small yellow mark on the edge of the central tabletop near the drawer (photo 1). The surfaces show general wear, small indentations, and light scratches throughout, particularly to the tabletop (photo 4). Minor gaps are visible at the hinges where the leaves meet the central section (photo 3). The drawer interior contains some accumulated dust and light debris (photo 6). The wood shows general oxidisation and weathering characteristic of antique-style pine furniture.
