A collection of decorative domestic items and ceramic ornaments. The group features a large white glazed earthenware figure of a seated spaniel in the Staffordshire style, detailed with copper-coloured features and a moulded collar and chain. Included in the assortment is a white glazed kneeling female figure, a white footed ceramic stand, and a shallow circular dish. The lot further comprises multiple pieces of studio pottery, notably a textured stoneware vessel with a variegated sand-coloured glaze and a smaller cream-glazed jug. Other decorative elements include a metal figure of a bull, a small wooden animal carving, a polished section of a nautilus shell, and a piece of natural bark. The collection also contains various functional ceramics, such as a red-glazed planter, a terracotta basket with a wicker handle, and a multi-toned ceramic plant pot with a matching saucer. A tarnished metal candlestick and a small decorative bowl with floral motifs are also present. The lot comprises the items on the wooden shelving only.
Condition report:
The items in the collection exhibit varied conditions consistent with age and previous use. The large Staffordshire style dog shows surface dirt and minor crazing to the glaze (photo 1). The metal bull figurine and the candlestick display significant surface tarnishing and oxidation (photo 3). The terracotta basket contains a small amount of grey residue or ash in the interior (photo 2). The studio pottery and planters show minor surface wear and occasional small scuffs to the rims. There are no large chips or structural cracks visible to the primary items.
