A 9ct yellow gold signet ring featuring a cushion-shaped head. The face of the ring is decorated to the upper left corner with a hand-engraved foliate scroll design, leaving the remainder of the head plain. The shoulders are smooth and taper into a solid band. The interior of the shank bears a full set of British hallmarks including a crown gold standard mark, the fineness mark ‘375’ denoting 9 carat gold, an anchor office mark for Birmingham, and the date letter ‘D’. An inventory tag is attached to the band by a white string.
Weight: 2.2g.
Condition report:
The ring displays moderate surface wear consistent with age, featuring fine scratches and scuffing to the exterior of the band and the signet head (photo 1). There is visible tarnish and dark buildup surrounding the hallmarks on the interior of the shank (photo 2). The band remains circular without significant distortion.
