Start price: £20

Estimated price: £20 - £40

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £32

A leaded slag glass hanging lamp shade, designed in the Tiffany style for a billiard table or dining area. The shade is constructed from individual pieces of marbled caramel or honey-coloured slag glass joined by lead cames. The design features a decorative border band of amber and forest green glass cabochon jewels in alternating oval and diamond shapes, finished with a lower rim of green slag glass panels. A central perforated metal heat cap with a single mounting hole is integrated into the dome. The lot includes three hanging rods with hook ends, finished in a dark bronze-toned patina to match the leading of the shade. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible on the shade or the accompanying hardware.

Condition report:

The shade shows signs of oxidation, with visible white deposits around the central metal cap and along several lead cames (photo 6). The metal heat cap exhibits surface rust and pitting on the underside (photo 8). Several glass panels show hairline cracks, most notably near the central cap and within the caramel-coloured sections (photo 6). One hook on the hanging rods shows a minor area of surface loss (photo 2).
