A resin composite ornament depicting a fairy, based on a design from the Estate of Cicely Mary Barker. The figure is shown standing on a naturalistic base decorated with oversized flowers and leaves, dressed in a layered petal skirt and a ruffled collar with a textured hairstyle. The base is incised on one side with the text The Columbine Fairy. The underside of the base features an inset rectangular plaque with two rows of vertical text reading PAST TIMES separated by a star symbol, alongside the smaller inscription © Estate CMB 2010. The back of the figure contains a rectangular aperture, indicating it was designed to hold additional components. The piece is constructed from a cast composite material with a grey and black finish, showing an aged appearance consistent with outdoor placement.

Condition report:

The ornament shows significant signs of outdoor weathering and wear. There is widespread loss and peeling of the original paint finish across the figure and base (photo 1 and 2). The surface exhibits biological growth including moss and lichen, particularly in the crevices of the decorative leaves and the naturalistic base (photo 5 and 7). A rectangular slot on the back of the fairy is empty, indicating the original wings are missing (photo 2). Small chips and cracks are visible to the edges of the base and the extremities of the leaves (photo 5).
