This lot comprises a sixteen piece dinner set manufactured by Sango in the Nova Brown pattern, model number 4933. The set is constructed from stoneware and features a contemporary aesthetic with a multi-tonal reactive glaze in shades of tan and brown, finished with a dark, contrasting rim and a high-gloss surface. The service is intended for four place settings, consisting of dinner plates, side plates, bowls, and mugs. The underside of the plates bears a black printed mark reading Sango followed by a registered trademark symbol, Nova Brown, 4933, and CHINA. The set is contained within its original retail box, which is labeled Radiance Stoneware and includes a circular sunburst logo. A retail adhesive label on the packaging indicates the set was originally sold at Derrys Department Store.
Condition report:
The stoneware set appears to be in unused condition, housed within the original internal cardboard dividers (photo 2). The glaze on the visible plate shows a high-gloss finish with no visible chips, cracks, or utensil marks (photo 2). The retail packaging shows some wear, including a tear to the top flap and residue from old adhesive tape (photo 1).
