The assortment features three animal studies: two small square framed drawings, one of a tiger and one of a lion, appearing to be charcoal and pastel on paper, and a larger framed photographic print of a tiger’s face. A watercolor landscape of a rural field with wildflowers and a church tower is signed Barbara V… in the lower left. Decorative items include a rectangular wall mirror with a scrolled bentwood or rattan frame, a modern painting on board of figures under an umbrella, and a small framed botanical print of citrus fruit. Several pieces bear adhesive inventory labels, including one on the lion drawing reading Bric a Brac £2.00 and others with alphanumeric codes such as W1328H.
Condition report:
The collection shows varying degrees of wear consistent with age and use. The 1917 carved wooden panel exhibits multiple white paint splatters across the surface and several shallow scratches, notably in the left field (photo 5 and 6). The rattan mirror frame shows minor surface abrasions and dust accumulation in the scrollwork (photo 4). The frames of the animal drawings show light scuffing at the corners, and the larger tiger print frame has minor surface marks (photo 8). The watercolor landscape appears to have some slight foxing or staining to the upper sky region (photo 2). All glass components appear intact without visible cracks or chips.
