This lot comprises a collection of four coats including two sheepskin car coats, a faux suede jacket, and a faux fur jacket. The first garment is a men’s mid-length sheepskin car coat in brown, constructed with a sueded exterior and a thick shearling wool interior. It features a wide notch lapel, two front patch pockets, and three large dark brown round buttons. A tag inside the pocket reads PURE SHEEPSKIN, U.K. SIZE 36, CONTINENTAL 44, TO FIT BUST: 38 ins/96 cms, HIPS: 40 ins/101 cms. The second item is a double-breasted sheepskin overcoat in a grey-brown sueded finish with a matching plush shearling interior, featuring two rows of large brown buttons and diagonal welt pockets. A fabric label sewn to the interior is embroidered with Real Sheepskin in a cursive script. The third garment is a ladies’ light tan faux suede jacket featuring a full-length metal zipper and long-pile faux fur trim to the collar and hood. A white printed label identifies it as M&S EST. 1884, with further text reading KEEP AWAY FROM FIRE, UK 16, EUR 44, 70/100A, and T49 3728/02684. The final item is a ladies’ short pink faux fur jacket with a large shawl collar and matching round buttons.
Condition report:
The brown sheepskin coat shows visible surface wear and pilling to the suede exterior, particularly concentrated around the buttonholes and pocket openings (photo 1). The grey-brown sheepskin coat exhibits significant fading and sun-bleaching to the exterior suede on the shoulders and upper sleeves (photo 1). The light tan faux suede jacket shows some light matting to the faux fur trim (photo 5). The pink faux fur jacket appears in good vintage condition with light wear to the pile (photo 6).
