A set of five Mid-century Modern Scandia side chairs designed by Hans Brattrud for Hove Mobler. Each chair features a curved, ergonomically shaped seat and backrest composed of bent wood slats, likely teak or teak-finished plywood. The slatted components are mounted onto chrome-plated tubular steel frames with a minimalist sled-base design. The construction utilizes visible circular fasteners to secure the slats to the internal framework. An original manufacturer paper label is present on the underside of the chairs, bearing a horseshoe-shaped logo with the word HOVE and text reading MADE IN NORWAY BY Hove Mobler A/S STORDAL.
Condition report:
The chairs are in good vintage condition showing signs of use consistent with age. There are minor surface scuffs, scratches, and light finish wear to the wooden slats. The chrome-plated frames exhibit some areas of light oxidation and pitting, particularly near the base.
