A Poole Pottery earthenware vase of tapered conical form decorated in the Volcano pattern. The exterior features a reactive Living Glaze with a bold abstract design executed in vibrant shades of red, orange, and black. The interior is finished with a solid matte orange-ochre glaze. The base bears a printed factory mark consisting of the words POOLE and POTTERY flanking a central stylised dolphin logo, with ENGLAND printed below. A hand-painted decorator’s mark, possibly reading os, is present in black to the right of the dolphin logo.
Condition report:
The vase is in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or signs of restoration. The interior base shows minor dark speckling and faint residue consistent with use. The exterior glaze is bright and well-preserved with no significant surface scratches.
