This George III mahogany kneehole desk, also known as a bureau-table, features a rectangular top above a single full-width frieze drawer. The lower section comprises two pedestals, each containing three graduated drawers, flanking a central kneehole area. The kneehole is fitted with a recessed cupboard door. The piece is constructed from mahogany and is supported on shaped bracket feet. The drawers are fitted with brass swan-neck bail handles on shaped backplates and matching brass escutcheons. No maker’s marks, labels, or stamps are visible on the piece.

Condition report:
The desk is in used condition with significant cosmetic wear, particularly to the top surface. The top exhibits extensive deep scratching, multi-directional abrasions, and several circular white marks, possibly resulting from heat or water damage. There is significant clouding and wear to the finish across the top surface. The body shows general scuffs, scratches, and minor chips to the wood and finish throughout, consistent with age and use. The brass hardware displays a natural aged patina.
