A collection of framed decorative artworks and textile pieces comprising various needlework, prints, and photographs. The group includes a large needlepoint landscape depicting mountains and a lake, a cross-stitch nursery interior with a dollhouse and toys, a floral rose study, and a small sampler. A garden scene embroidery of a woman in nineteenth-century dress is presented in a green-finished tray frame with metal handles. The photography section contains three black-and-white studies of historic English village streets and architecture. Prints include a matted work from The Frith Collection titled Bidford-on-Avon, c. 1950, depicting The Fisherman’s Rest pub, a tinted print of a bridge signed lower left R. Stanley and inscribed Bidford-on-Avon, and a colour river scene with a modern cruiser. The items are mounted in various wooden, gilt, and painted frames.
Condition report:
The collection is in overall fair to good condition. The frames exhibit typical age-related wear, including scuffs, scratches, and minor losses to gilt and painted finishes. Some toning and light discolouration are visible on the paper and fabric supports. The metal handles of the tray frame show minor oxidisation. Dust and light debris are present behind the glass in several pieces.
