A large, hand-carved solid hardwood wall sculpture of an African elephant head. The piece is finished with a dark stain and features stylised, incised texturing across the surface to represent the animal hide. It is depicted with large, flared ears and a trunk that curls at the tip. One carved tusk of a lighter wood is currently attached, while the second tusk is detached and present. The reverse is fitted with a simple metal D-ring hanging bracket at the top centre.
50cm x 60cm x 25cm (approximate).
Condition report:
One tusk is detached but present for restoration. There is general surface wear and minor scuffing to the finish on the raised edges. Significant dust accumulation is visible within the carved recesses. No cracks or structural losses to the wood were observed.
