A collection of Royal Doulton fine bone china collector plates, comprising several limited edition series with military aviation themes. The group includes examples from the Heroes of the Sky series by Michael Turner, featuring the designs Halifax Salute and Tempest Racing Home. Also included are plates from the Guardians of the Sea series by Ronald Wong, featuring Rescue Role and Maritime Patrol. The collection further contains Royal Air Force commemorative plates by Geoff Hunt, including the Royal Air Force 75th Anniversary Plate and the Fire From The Sky Plate, both featuring gilt rims. A Lockheed Hudson Recovery Mission plate is also present. Each plate is decorated with polychrome transfer-printed aviation scenes based on original commissioned artworks. The collection is accompanied by individual Certificates of Authenticity and original manufacturer cardboard boxes with protective polystyrene inserts.
Condition report:
The plates are in excellent condition and appear unused, with no visible chips, cracks, hairlines, or restoration. Transfer-printed designs are vibrant and the gilt rims on the commemorative examples show no signs of wear or rubbing. The original cardboard packaging shows minor shelf wear and some light staining consistent with age and storage. Documentation is clean and well-preserved.
