A pair of contemporary pine four-drawer chests of drawers by the British manufacturer Ducal. The chests are constructed from solid pine with a honey-toned finish and characteristic knotty grain. The configuration consists of four graduated drawers, each fitted with a single turned wooden knob and featuring machine-joined fronts. The chests are supported on four matching wooden bun feet and feature a small raised gallery rail to the rear of the top surface. The back panels and drawer bases are constructed from secondary composite materials. A yellow manufacturer’s label is affixed to the back of the units, identifying the maker as Ducal, The Pine People, with the registration code L9140.
Condition report:
The items are in good used condition. Both tops show several visible surface scratches, scuffs, and small indentations consistent with age and domestic use. There is minor wear to the finish on the leading edges and corners. The drawers operate smoothly on standard runners.
