A collection of studio glass comprising five animal figurines and a spherical paperweight. The group includes a large stylized penguin figure, a swan-shaped dish with an elongated pulled neck, a standing elephant with a raised trunk, a pig, and a long-necked creature. Each animal is constructed from clear blown glass containing dense internal horizontal and pulled swirls of purple, white, and dark blue glass. The spherical paperweight features a controlled internal floral motif in vibrant blue, yellow, and white against a clear ground. The penguin figure features a large ground and polished base, while the swan displays a polished pontil mark and the paperweight has a ground, frosted flat base.
Condition report:
The collection is generally in good condition. The penguin figure and the paperweight exhibit light surface scratches and scuffing to their ground bases consistent with age and shelf wear. The remaining animal figurines show no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to delicate extremities such as the trunks, legs, or necks. Occasional small internal air bubbles are present, which are characteristic of the manufacturing process.
