A three-piece bedroom suite constructed with mahogany and sapele veneers, featuring a prominent ribbon-stripe grain and cross-banded borders. The suite comprises a kneehole dressing table, a tall chest of drawers, and a matching upholstered stool, all supported on cabriole legs ending in pad feet. The dressing table features a bowed front configuration with five drawers and is fitted with a triple-fold adjustable toilet mirror with a mahogany-framed central panel and hinged side wings. The chest of drawers contains five drawers of equal width with traditional dovetailed joints and brass-effect batwing-style pull handles. The rectangular stool is upholstered with a needlepoint tapestry seat displaying a floral pattern of roses and scrolling foliage in shades of pink, blue, and green on a cream ground.
Condition report:
The dressing table top shows several visible scratches, areas of finish wear, and light abrasions. There are minor scuffs to the veneer on the legs and feet of the pieces. The chest of drawers is in overall good condition with minor surface dings and light scratches consistent with age and use. The stool upholstery is well-preserved with no significant tears or staining, and the frame is sturdy. The brass-effect hardware is complete and original to the set, showing light patination.
