A collection of twelve commemorative medallions celebrating the life and service of Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh. The set consists of gold-plated base metal medallions, each housed within an individual clear plastic protective capsule and presented in a blue velvet-lined tray. The collection features two distinct design styles. One group incorporates high-definition, full-colour photographic central inserts depicting the Duke in various stages of life, including military uniform, civilian dress, and joint portraits with HM Queen Elizabeth II. The second group features a traditional numismatic struck profile portrait in raised relief. Each medallion is finished with a decorative laurel wreath border and circular inscriptions reading PRINCE PHILIP DUKE OF EDINBURGH and HIS ROYAL HIGHNESS THE DUKE OF EDINBURGH PRINCE PHILIP. No denominations, specific mint marks, or dates are visible on the faces shown.
Condition report:
The medallions are in excellent, as-issued condition. There is no visible wear, surface marking, or toning to the gold-plated surfaces or the photographic elements. The presentation housing and protective capsules show minimal signs of handling.
