This lot comprises one Jubilee Mint Royal Engagement sterling silver proof commemorative medal in a presentation case. Struck in .925 sterling silver with a proof finish, the obverse features a crown over a stylised ‘HM’ monogram within a rose wreath, inscribed ‘HRH PRINCE HENRY OF WALES’ and ‘RACHEL MEGHAN MARKLE’. The reverse depicts four heraldic shields of the United Kingdom in a cruciform arrangement separated by floral emblems, with a Latin legend reading ‘REGNUM UNITUM MAGNAE BRITANNIAE ET HIBERNIAE SEPTENTRIONALIS’. Small British hallmarks are struck to the reverse above the top shield, including a sponsor mark, a crown fineness mark, ‘925’, and an assay office mark. The medal is housed in a clear protective capsule within a black case with a white satin lid liner printed with a gold crown logo and ‘JUBILEE MINT’. The accompanying Certificate of Authenticity is printed ‘THE ROYAL ENGAGEMENT SOLID SILVER PROOF COMMEMORATIVE’ and includes a specifications table signed ‘Michael J. Byrne’ for The Jubilee Mint, stating an edition limit of ‘2,017’.

Condition report:

The medal appears in excellent proof condition with bright mirrored fields and frosted devices, free from visible wear, surface scratches, or toning (photos 3 and 4). The plastic capsule is in good order. The presentation case shows minor handling wear to the exterior (photo 1). The Certificate of Authenticity displays light brown foxing or spotting to the right-hand side (photo 6).
