Lot 306: A Highlands Mahogany Toned Wooden Regulator Style Wall Clock

This auction ended on September 2, 2026.

Start price: £5

Estimated price: £5 - £10

Buyer's Premium: 20%

Sold for: £6

A Highlands mahogany toned wooden regulator style wall clock. The timepiece is housed in a dark-finished wooden case featuring a glazed front door with turned side columns and a pediment top. The circular brass-toned metal dial has a sunburst finish, decorated with black Roman numerals, an outer Arabic minute ring, and ornate filigree spandrels. The dial is centrally marked Highlands in a black cursive script. The clock contains a three-train weight-driven mechanical movement with three chains, suggesting time, strike, and chime complications. Included with the lot is one brass-toned cylindrical weight, a circular brass-toned pendulum bob, and a winding key.

Condition report:

The clock is incomplete as it is missing two of the three required cylindrical brass weights. The wooden case displays minor surface scuffs and dust accumulation consistent with use (photo 2). A metal winding key is currently attached to the exterior of the glazed door using brown adhesive tape, which may leave residue upon removal (photo 1). The mechanical movement has not been tested and the functional condition of the time, strike, and chime mechanisms is unknown.
