This lot comprises five coastal and marine artworks including examples by Janet Meakin and Paul Meakin. The collection features a primary impressionistic painting depicting a dramatic cresting green wave with white foam, executed in oil or acrylic on board. This piece is housed in a dark wooden frame with a wide sage-green mount. Also included are two unframed beach and sea studies in plastic sleeves, a framed oval study of a coastal cliff, and a framed scene of waves breaking against dark rocks. The works utilize varied palettes of blues, greens, and earth tones to capture maritime environments.

The wave painting is signed to the lower right Janet Meakin. One of the unframed beach studies is signed to the lower centre Paul Meakin. The final framed work is signed to the lower right R. B… followed by illegible characters.

Condition report:

The artworks appear generally in good auctionable condition. The large wave painting shows no visible surface loss or craquelure through the glass (photo 1). The framed coastal scene of waves crashing against rocks exhibits significant spotting and foxing across the light-coloured paper mount (photo 3). The frames throughout the collection show typical minor scuffs and surface dirt consistent with age and handling.
