This lot comprises a set of six annual United States Mint proof coin sets, dating consecutively from 1977 to 1982. Each set is housed in its original red plastic protective lens and black outer cardboard envelope. The coins are produced in proof quality with frosted relief devices against mirror-like fields. The collection includes copper-nickel clad denominations consisting of the dime, quarter, and half dollar, alongside a copper-based cent. The 1977 and 1978 sets feature the Eisenhower large-size dollar. The 1979, 1980, and 1981 sets include the Susan B. Anthony dollar. The 1982 set contains a bronze-coloured United States Treasury medallion in place of a dollar coin. Each coin bears a small S mint mark, signifying production at the San Francisco Mint. The outer black card envelopes are printed with white script reading United States Proof Set followed by the respective year.
Condition report:
The coins remain in uncirculated proof condition within their original protective lenses. The 1978 Eisenhower dollar reverse exhibits light spotting to the fields (photo 3). Minor natural toning is visible on the 1980 half dollar (photo 5). The black outer cardboard envelopes show evidence of shelf wear, with rubbing and minor scuffing to the edges and corners (photo 1). The 1982 set includes an adhesive inventory label to the top left corner of the lens (photo 7).
