A collection of 2011 The Royal British Legion 90th Anniversary coin covers by Westminster, housed in a blue presentation binder. The lot comprises multiple covers, each containing a five-pound coin struck in silver-toned metal alongside commemorative postage stamps. The coins feature various themed reverse designs including The Cenotaph, The Central Band, a motif titled Hope depicting a scout and a soldier, and a poppy fly-past, all dated 1921-2011 and inscribed ROYAL BRITISH LEGION. The obverse of the coins typically features the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The stamps include 50p denominations from territories including Gibraltar and the British Indian Ocean Territory, all cancelled with first day of issue postmarks dated in 2011. Each cover is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity bearing a printed signature of Stephen R. Allen Chairman. Legible serial numbers on the certificates include A-21031, A-20951, A-20961, and A-20955. The collection also includes a sheet of six Gibraltar 50p stamps featuring poppy motifs.
Condition report:
The collection appears in excellent condition as issued. The coins show no visible signs of wear, toning, or handling marks through the protective plastic sleeves (photos 2-5). The paper covers, stamps, and accompanying certificates show no signs of creasing, foxing, or staining. The blue binder and internal protective sleeves are intact with no noted defects (photo 1).
