This lot comprises a trio of Victorian style upholstered items including a nursing chair and two matching cushions. The chair is designed as a low-seated nursing or salon chair without arms, featuring a button-tufted backrest. It is finished in a modern blue and beige floral patterned jacquard fabric displaying a repeating leaf and scroll motif. A decorative braided gimp trim is applied to the base of the seat rail. The piece is supported by two decoratively turned and fluted wooden front legs, possibly made of mahogany or walnut, alongside two splayed rear legs of square section. All four legs are fitted with metal casters. The two matching cushions are square in form and upholstered in the same floral fabric. The upholstery on the chair appears to be a later replacement of the original covering. No manufacturer’s marks, signatures, or labels are present on the items.
Condition report:
The upholstery on the chair and both cushions is in overall good, clean condition with no visible tears or significant staining (Photos 1, 2, 3). The wooden legs exhibit various scuffs, scratches, and areas of worn finish, primarily around the bases and within the fluted details (Photo 4). The metal casters show signs of age-related oxidation and general wear (Photos 4, 5). The structural integrity of the frame appears sound.
