An exhibition poster for the Hunterian Art Gallery, University of Glasgow, featuring a design by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. This large-scale, vertical poster is printed on paper and housed within a black-painted frame under glass. The artwork depicts a highly stylised Glasgow Style Art Nouveau composition, originally designed for The Scottish Musical Review in 1896, featuring elongated geometric forms and abstract bird motifs in a palette of deep blue, purple, and green. The lower section of the poster contains printed text for the exhibition titled CHARLES RENNIE MACKINTOSH DRAWINGS, DESIGNS AND WATERCOLOURS, scheduled for 26 OCTOBER 1991 – 1 FEBRUARY 1992.

To the lower right of the image, the printed inscription CHAS. R. MACKINTOSH INV. DELT 1896 is visible. The bottom margin is printed with the publisher name BANKS & C O EDINBURGH & GLASGOW. The reverse of the frame features a brown paper backing, which shows signs of age and wear.

Condition report:

The poster exhibits noticeable undulation and rippling across the paper surface (photo 1 and 3). Small specks of debris and dust are visible behind the glass (photo 3). The reverse brown paper backing is torn and partially detached along the bottom edge, with some associated tape residue and staining (photo 5). The black-painted frame shows minor scuffing and light surface wear.
