Sold for: £8
A mid-century modern style wall mirror handcrafted in Devon by Will Witham. The piece is constructed from a single solid piece of medium-toned wood, showing a prominent straight grain consistent with oak or ash. The frame is worked into a distinctive asymmetrical elongated shield or teardrop form, featuring a wide flat interior bevel that leads to a recessed triangular mirror plate. To the reverse, the mirror is fitted with a brown fibreboard backing secured by six flat-head screws. A white rectangular adhesive label is affixed to the rear reading Hand Crafted in Devon by Will Witham 01803 865260. The mirror is equipped with two metal rings and a wire loop for horizontal wall mounting.
Condition report:
The wooden frame is in good condition with no visible chips or cracks to the grain (photo 1). The triangular mirror plate shows no significant evidence of foxing or silvering loss, although surface dust and minor smudging are visible in the reflection (photo 1). The rear fibreboard backing displays some localised dark spotting and moisture staining across the surface (photo 2). The hanging wire is currently secured with a makeshift knot and may require replacement for secure installation (photo 2).
