A collection of vintage costume jewellery and personal accessories, including a significant grouping of insignia related to the National Association of Teachers of Dancing. The insignia comprises multiple shield-shaped medals in bronze-tone metal, some featuring blue enamel borders, with legible inscriptions including NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF TEACHERS OF DANCING, BALLROOM BRONZE, and LATIN. The lot also contains a set of silver-tone cufflinks with circular mother-of-pearl insets in a presentation box printed with MOTHER O’ PEARL and MADE IN ENGLAND.
The assortment includes a card of four STAR HAT PINS featuring simulated pearl and gold-tone filigree heads, a small gold-tone lighter in a plastic case marked ECHT PETIT POINT HANDARBEIT, and a silver-tone keychain in a brown H. SAMUEL FOR FINE JEWELLERY box. Additional items include a black presentation box containing two cylindrical atomisers with marbled finishes in green and blue, a blue vanity case with an interior mirror, a Voyager originals BE IN BIG BEAR, CA. souvenir patch, a wooden burr puzzle, and various small charms and figurines. A small red leather circular box contains an assortment of buttons.
Condition report:
The items are in used vintage condition with observable wear consistent with age. Several of the dancing medals show surface oxidation and tarnishing to the metal and enamel (photo 1). The star hat pin card is yellowed and shows tears to the paper (photo 3). The blue vanity box has visible scuffs and wear to the exterior edges (photo 1). The H. Samuel presentation box shows dust and minor staining to the interior white satin lining (photo 2). The packaging for the Big Bear patch is creased and bent at the top (photo 3).
