A collection of British and Commonwealth philatelic material, primarily comprising First Day Covers and mint commemorative stamp sets from the 1970s and 1980s. The assortment is housed within two ring-bound albums, one in blue and one in green, alongside a quantity of loose items in a plastic sleeve. The collection includes various thematic issues such as British Trees: The Horse Chestnut dated 1974, British Flowers from 1979, and a series of maritime history covers. Notable commemorative items include First Day Covers for the 1977 Silver Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II and the 1982 Charles Darwin anniversary. The First Day Covers typically feature printed cachets and are cancelled with circular date stamps from various locations, including Plymouth, Devon, and London. Also included are mint sets, such as the William Caxton issue, and a souvenir sheet from Monaco. Some covers bear handwritten addresses to a private residence in Plymouth.

Condition report:

The collection appears to be in generally clean condition, with the majority of items stored within protective plastic leaves. Some light toning is visible on the edges of the loose covers in the plastic bag (photo 7). The albums show minor signs of handling and shelf wear to the covers and spines (photo 1). The stamps and covers within the albums appear well-preserved with no visible tears or heavy creasing (photos 2-6). The circular date stamp cancellations are generally clear and legible.
