This lot comprises two vintage wall mirrors featuring screen printed graphic designs. The first item is a landscape orientation mirror featuring a stylized halftone portrait of Marilyn Monroe in black ink. The design utilizes fine horizontal lines of varying thickness to create a shimmering figurative image against the reflective surface. It is housed in a simple black painted wooden frame with a flat profile and a hardboard backing secured by metal glazier points. A metal hanging chain is attached to the reverse via D-rings. The second item is a portrait orientation mirror featuring a multicolored figurative graphic of a woman with long dark hair, red lips, and floral elements. The ethereal illustration is rendered in a style reminiscent of late 20th century fashion illustration, incorporating delicate botanical sprigs and a bird-like hand motif. This mirror is set within a dark stained wooden frame with a decorative fluted molding. The reverse is finished with a brown paper dust cover reinforced with vertical adhesive tape and fitted with metal hanging loops. No signatures or manufacturer marks are readable on either piece.
Condition report:
The Marilyn Monroe mirror shows minor surface scratches to the glass plate (photo 2). The black frame has visible wear including scuffing and paint loss along the edges and corners (photo 3). The figurative mirror plate is clear with no significant silvering loss or foxing visible. The wooden frame shows typical age-related wear including minor nicks and dust accumulation in the molding (photo 4). The paper backing on the second mirror is intact but shows some rippling and aged adhesive tape (photo 5).
